Vote for Mike Balow

​Mike Balow is the best 2024 candidate for the MSU Board of Trustees  

​I am Democrat and I will vote for Mike Balow (R).

Mike Balow is a good capable person who will bring positive change to the dysfunctional MSU Board of Trustees.  I feel that Mike Balow is the best 2024 candidate to bring closure to the Nassar scandal.

On my website I stated that I will vote for 2024 candidates for the MSU Board of Trustees that state that any Nassar enablers still working for MSU should be fired.  I am happy to see that Mr. Balow stated on Sept. 13, 2024, on his Facebook page that it is "Time for MSU to do more house cleaning" concerning how MSU covered up the Nassar scandal by what they did with the "6,000 documents" that were recently released to the Michigan AG.  Mr. Balow implied that current MSU Office of General Counsel head Brian Quinn hid the truth and should be fired.  I am pleased that Mr. Balow has taken that position.  He has gone further than I in advocating that those involved in the Nassar scandal currently working at MSU such as Brian Quinn should be removed.  Hopefully, others that are running for the MSU Board will publicly write the same. 

​ Mr. Balow has also written on his website that there should be an independent investigation of the Nassar scandal that was never done. 

Dan Kelly (R), a legacy MSU Trustee, is the only Republican on the MSU Board of Trustees, and did not get the Republican nomination to run in 2024. I feel that there should be at least one Republican on the MSU Board of Trustees.  I feel that college boards should not be highly political.

Mr. Balow became active in MSU politics when MSU terminated the MSU Swim and Dive Team.  His daughter was on the swim team.  Mr. Balow has spoken at every MSU Board of Trustees' meetings for the past four years.  I have heard many of his excellent speeches advocating for the return of the MSU Men's and Women's Swim and Dive team. 

During this time many bad things have happened concerning the behavior of some of the MSU Trustees and top administrators.  Mr. Balow has been appalled by the dysfunctional MSU Board of Trustees.  He feels that he will be a positive influence on the MSU Board and for MSU.  I agree and that is a major reason why I will be voting for Mike Balow.
